The Circle of Life [#1]

January 18, 2008

Hi! Welcome to the first new article of the “Life Circle.” Now what on Earth do you suppose this feature is about? Well, these articles are going to be about helpful tips, usually on how to deal with life, relieving stress, among other things. According to many people, “history repeats itself.”

Now if this is really true, I am here today to not repeat it. Many people’s lives- including mine- try to find a medium to escape the reality of life. Whether it be video games, to make one happy and give attention to, or painting a picture and letting your imagination fly through the skies, every single individual tries to find a way to make themselves feel more happy about themselves and their life.

Well, beginning now, I will be doing something a little bit out of the ordinary- at least for my blog. I will not be writing about entertainment and video games in these articles- that’s right. I will be writing about how to make life less stressful. The source I use for these articles right now will be from a book I purchased 10 years ago, entitled “Don’t Stress” which was written by Nancy E. Krulik. I always found it a bit odd that there was no description of the author in the book, or even if she was a stress-ologist (if that profession exists). But anyways, let’s begin the “life circle.”

1. Stop using others as your mirror… It’s how you view yourself that’s important!

Isn’t it weird how we care so much about what others think of us? We let people put us into all sorts of categories. You’ve heard the labels: the brains, the jocks, the nerds…

But no one really fits into a category. Food fits into groups, people don’t! So before you let someone else define you, remember: each person is unique. And we are all made up of many different characteristics. The names other people give you can never define you – they can only confine you. Don’t you let them!
