The HappyCube [#5]

April 14, 2008

Time for another article of HappyCube! For those new here, “HappyCube” is an editorial piece in which I ["Cube"] and my friend ["Happy"], come up with a topic, and each of us respond to it. It is really cool to see what kind of ideas we come up with, and today’s topic is no exception.

Last time, we discussed on what video game character we would marry if given the choice.
For this edition, we came up with:

If you could design a Halo 3 map, describe what it would be. Include a brief intro and name.

Well, my map would be a combination of a few of my favorite maps. Relic, Headlong, Beaver Creek, and Midship.

I enjoy looking at bright scenery, so the lighting would be similar to that of Beaver Creek. Tons of tall grass would be spread around the arena, even tall enough to hide in when crouched!

There would be tons of structures for protection against the many bullets that may hit you. In the middle of the map would be not just a Rocket Launcher, but also a Fuel Rod Gun! [Surprisingly, these weapons are never seen in any maps]

To the left would be a big elevated hill platform, which would contain a sniper rifle, and getting there is not impossible, because there is a creek underneath the bridge, offering some protection.

Near the top middle lies a tree in which you can enter (think Backwash) which leads to a building similar to the one on Headlong. On the bottom left corner is a base similar to the one on Waterworks, which serves as a great spawn point.

On the other side, lies the Covenant themed area, where you find a Midship like area, with plenty of openings to run into, as well as a multi-tiered pillar that serves as a great place to camp.

The name of this map would be called Serenity.

The short intro would be: “Once a peaceful area, the grounds here have become a battle between the Spartans and the Covenant. When the truth is set free, serenity will shine through.”
