The HappyCube [#7]
June 7, 2008
Hello! Welcome to another installment of The HappyCube, where MasterKitty (Happy) and I (Cube) come up with a topic and discuss about it.
Last time we expressed our opinions on what our most challenging video game was.

For this addition of HappyCube, it was suggested we discuss on:
If you could make a Dance Dance Revolution game, what would it be like?
If I could make a DDR game, I would make it for Xbox 360. I would first focus on getting many songs included in the game, my personal favorites, along with some new music tracks. I would then make sure that there would be hundred of additional songs you can purchase through the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Secondly, I would spend a lot of time working on the multiplayer features, increasing the online lobbies to more than four people, and have more game modes to choose from. I would make sure you can change the speed of the arrows and see the information on each song (difficulty and BPM) when online. I would try and create a mini DDR MMORPG, where players can create a dancer and visit places across the world, embarking on a story line and deciding how to live in the DDR world.

Offline game modes would include a better Workout Mode, which would track almost anything, along with a unlock system which enabled you to get songs by having money you made while playing the offline Quest Mode, which would be similar to the online MMORPG mode.
I would not create a Challenge Mode, as most people who play DDR do not enjoy it so much. Also, if allowed, I would try to enable that you could import any music into your Xbox 360 to be used in DDR. I would also make sure the game would not take a long time to load, and work on making sure the game would not freeze.
I would also have a Karaoke DDR Mode, where players can sing to DDR songs as well. That would be an awesome addition. This would be an online mode as well.
Perhaps some of these ideas might become reality some day.
