Wiily disappointed with Animal Crossing…
July 17, 2008
I have been waiting for this game for quite some time to be released on the Wii, and this year’s E3 had a huge showing of the new Animal Crossing game.
What I first noticed was the graphics were still the same, which disapointed me, because I was expecting more visually. Playing another game with same graphics as one released on the Gamecube several years ago is pathetic.
Owners of Animal Crossing: Wild World will have the option of “moving” their character from their DS to the Animal Crossing: City Folk on the Wii, where all items gathered (excluding bells) on the DS version will transfer over to the Wii version, although upon doing this, all items traded over will have no resale value. There is an option to incorporate your Mii face, but that just looks weird.

However, there are a few new options, such as the Wiispeak, which enables voice communications. Take a look at the video below to see it in action.
I am also a bit nervous about using the Wiimote, hopefully I will be able to use a Gamecube or Virtual Console Controller. But I must say, if this game is not good enough, this will be the last straw. Yeah, I will be selling my Wii and the few games I have, and wait a few years until the next Nintendo console comes out.
Overall, I am disappointed, as a huge Nintendo fan , of the lack of creativity and ingenuity in the games that have been released thus far.
The release date for Animal Crossing: City Folk will be November 16th in United States.
