Hello! Welcome to another HappyCube installment, and if you don’t know by now what it is, you are living on planet Emo World.

Last time, we discussed about living in different time periods. For this article, we came up with:
If you could create a video game, what would it be like?

Well, if I could create a video game, it would have different elements in the game to keep a gamer interested. Most video games that we play are of one genre, be it a shooter, sports, or puzzle game. What if I combined many of the genres into one?

First, I would have to think of the characters. I would definitely want the ability to create your own. Afterwards, I would enable the player to determine what kind of skills they would like to have – be it athletic, intelligent, etc.

The game would take a place in a environment that is different from most games. The tired “dark settings” would not be seen here. Perhaps a modern environment, in a peaceful state like Hawaii, or during a snowy day in Alaska.

It would not be open – ended, but instead mission based filled with many activities to do, such as exploring, shooting practices, puzzle games, music dance offs – the list goes on.

Every place you visited would be memorable, and furthermore you would also have a place to live as well. Whether it be an apartment, or just in a motel room, or even a trailer park, you would have the option to customize your living area, and when you want to move, would be able to bring the stuff you like with you, or sell it.

I would also make the game educational, teaching gamers about other cultures. Equality would be a part of it and no major violence would be in this game. I would make it an Xbox 360 game, utilizing Xbox Live, and have up to 25 players per room. Online, gamers would go on missions together, solving puzzles together, and helping one another in the game. It would be a bit more open ended online, different from the single player experience.

I would definitely try and make the visual style of anime characteristics, sort of like in the movie of A Scanner Darkly, but a bit more exaggerated.

Last but not least, the name for this game would be:

Dreams of Reality.
