Last time I discussed about Final Fantasy III.

Today is all about Final Fantasy IV.

First released in United States as Final Fantasy II on Super Nintendo in 1991, it was received very warmly, many praising it as one of the best RPG’s ever made. I recall seeing this game in the store, but never got around to purchasing it until the PS One version was released as Final Fantasy Chronicles.

I really enjoyed the storyline in this game, and the cut-scenes were beautiful too.

The music was enjoyable to listen to, and fit the game quite well.

The storyline was great for its time, but nowadays is severely lacking. The last time you may have seen this game was on Game Boy Advance, and a bit of extra content was added as well. It is quite interesting to know that there was a sequel made for this game, which is set many years in the future. Unfortunately, it is only available in Japan on cell phones.

Recently, it was announced that Final Fantasy IV was going to be remade on Nintendo DS! Take a look at the beautiful website.

It is wonderful that Square Enix is remaking the old Final Fantasy games. I can’t wait till VI, VII, and VIII are! : )

Last time I blogged about Final Fantasy, it was about Final Fantasy: The Dawn of Souls (for Game Boy Advance), which included Final Fantasy I and II. Today’s focus will be on Final Fantasy III - which was the only serial Final Fantasy to have never been released outside of Japan… until recently.

In 2007, Final Fantasy III was finally released on the Nintendo DS, and I was very excited to play it. I popped it into my DS, and was pleasantly surprised. This game was the first Final Fantasy to have a graphical and musical overhaul from its original version on a handheld.

Who could forget the memorable cut scene that was first seen when you began the game? It was quite magical. I really enjoyed the old-school game play that followed. The story line to me was not bad at all, thanks to the addition of many more conversations throughout the game.

The intro cut scene from the game. Yes, this is on DS!

It is actually a bit difficult finding the game in stores these days, so I would suggest going online to get a copy. I still have mine, because I hope to get a Nintendo DS Lite someday and finish the game. Hopefully someday I will even be able to play it online as well…

Sometimes I wish I did not sell my original DS, but I really needed the credit to get an Xbox 360. I believe I made the right decision. Although I do miss the cute moogles…

Take a look at a video review, along with excellent gameplay footage.

What are your thoughts on Final Fantasy III?

Do you remember Final Fantasy I? I do. The latest version appeared on the Playstation Portable a few months ago, but I personally experienced it on the Game Boy Advance. Entitled Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, the hype for this game was very high, and when it was released back in 2004, it certainly sold quite well. The game was a remake of the Playstation One game Final Fantasy Origins, but had additional features. If you were one of the hardcore gamers who remembers playing this game on the Nintendo Entertainment System, then surely you will remember the annoyance of saving. Thanks to recent technology, games have become easier in that regard, no longer requiring passwords to save your progress in the game.

What made Final Fantasy I such a good game was that the company, Square (as that is what is was known by back in the day) put its heart and soul into making the game. The company had made previous games before, but did not sell well at all. This game was their last chance, their last fantasy. But to their surprise, it sold many copies, and ended up becoming Square’s hit franchise.

Fast forward to 1:15. The music is beautiful…

The Game Boy Advance version was noted for being very simplistic and easy- and it certainly was. The story was practically non existent, but what I enjoyed most about the game was the music. This game was awesome to hear with headphones, and the classic songs were very nostalgic to me.
Do you have any memories of playing Final Fantasy I?

Has anyone ever seen the movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within? I remember watching it in theaters. I enjoyed the movie very much. It was not what I was expecting, but it certainly did have its own unique vibe to it. The animations were incredible.

I found this very rare video of the characters from the movie dancing to “Thriller.”

Enjoy.
What did you think of the movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within?
Were you disappointed or did you enjoy it?

Hello, and welcome to the first edition of my new series of articles! As the name implies, I will be writing about anything Final Fantasy. Why is that? Because I am a huge Final Fantasy fan! Ever since I played Final Fantasy VII, I was hooked onto the series. I own Final Fantasy I through IX, and I plan to get X, X-2, and XII someday- once I have a PS2.

Today I would like to share with you all a really cool video I found. It is a battle scene from Final Fantasy VIII- but instead of it being from the game, its actually real life! Yes, this is a cosplay battle! I thought it was well done, so enjoy!

What did you think of the video? I personally thought it was well done, although a bit repetitive. I loved Edea’s costume though ^_^
