Movie Spotlight: Powder Blue
Powder Blue, in a way, is a bit similar to the film The Air I Breathe, im which both films are drama that revolves around a few characters – even featuring an actor that was in both movies (Whitaker).
Powder Blue is a very heavy drama that features quite a bit of adult account. I don’t really recommend the film for a variety of reasons. One is that the characters are not that believable. In fact, the only character that made sense was Lisa Kudrow’s portrayal as a waitress. This role was perfect for her. Whitaker’s role as a depressed priest was merely okay as the events he went through were just too out of the ordinary to believe.
Biel’s portrayal as a stripper and single mom was not very good – it did not really suit her very well, but I do give her credit for her scenes with her child. Overall, the film is not at all a must watch, and I highly recommend The Air I Breathe over this.
