E3 Thoughts

So it’s June 3rd, and I’ve seen Microsoft’s, Sony’s and Nintendo’s Conferences.

It was my first time watching some of it live, and it was very intriguing. I must say that I had no idea what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by all of the conferences.

Microsoft shined with it’s Project Natal announcement, demonstrating Milo and the Party Paint games. The interactivity sets a new bar that makes the Wii look a little pale in comparison. But that’s when Nintendo shocked me with their “Vitality Sensor” which can measure your “mood” and heartbeat – imagine playing Eternal Darkness and the game can recognize if you are scared playing the game… that would be pretty cool.

Sony’s conference was a lot of fun thanks to the new Eye Toy accessory, and I really enjoyed watching the ModNation Racers demo. While the games announced did not intrigue me very much, as many of them were sequels or spin-offs, I’m pretty sure that Holiday 2009 will have some amazing games.

Watch the “Milo demo” : )

Good call about the vitality sensor being used in something like Eternal Darkness. I’m wondering if they do biometric tests during horror game development?
